The President of Chad’s transitional military council General Mahamat Idriss Deby is currently on a one-day official visit to Nigeria, where he has met President Muhammadu Buhari.
The two leaders held a behind closed doors meeting on Friday at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that Deby’s visit to Nigeria is aimed at formally introducing himself to Buhari.
Daily Post Nigeria reports that the two leaders might use the opportunity to deliberate on the menace of terrorism and arms proliferation threatening the peace and security of the sub-region.
Nigeria and Chad share boundaries in the Sahel region.
On May 10, Deby made his first international trip to Niger.
