Food and nutrition insecurity in the West African sub-region remains a worrying concern for stakeholders, this is according to Ghanaian Foreign Minister Shirley Ayorkor Botchway

Speaking during the opening of the International Conference on West African Food Security, Storage System in Accra, capital of Ghana he called upon stakeholders to remain committed to crisis response coordination mechanisms both at the national and regional levels under the leadership of ECOWAS.

“All member states of the sub-regional bloc Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) and other relevant stakeholders, therefore, need to boost their collaborative efforts,” Botchway said, adding that it was also “necessary and fundamental to the consolidation of regional solidarity and integration.”
