Russia’s Putin gets second jab of Russian COVID-19 vaccine

Russian President Vladimir Putin has announced that he has received the second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, three weeks after the first vaccination.

“I want to inform you that I just received another vaccine before entering this hall. I hope everything will be fine. I don’t even hope, I’m sure of that, “Putin said at the meeting of the Russian Geographical Society.

Sputnik Agency reports that the president also expressed hope that the “pandemic will end soon, among other things, thanks to the vaccination that we are actively implementing in the country.”

Putin received the first dose of the vaccine on March 23, this was however not done on camera.

It has not been revealed which of the three Russian vaccines was received by the head of the Russian state.

The Russian leader later explained that he did not follow the example of some world leaders and did not get vaccinated in public.
