Two Mali soldiers killed, 8 injured, in attack

Two Malian soldiers have been killed, while eight others have been injured in an attack at the security post of Tessit, a locality located 55 km southwest of Ansongo.

Malian Armed Forces stated that the security post was ambushed by armed terrorist groups around 1:30PM.

In a post on Twitter, the Malian Armed Forces said, “after heavy fighting, the toll shows 2 dead and 8 wounded on the FAMA side. Search operations are underway in the area. Evacuations of the wounded are provided by (The United Nations Multidimensional Integrated Stabilization Mission in Mali) MINUSMA.
