The government explained that the woman’s husband, a girl and two other women were being transported in the ambulance between the towns of Gaskindé and Namissiguia, near Burkina Faso’s border with Mali.

So far, no one has taken responsibility for laying the land mine.

According to the statement by the government, the ambulance was on a “medical evacuation mission to Ouagadougou”.
