Morocco sees 17-pct drop in road accidents due to COVID-19 lockdown

Morocco recorded a 17-percent drop in the number of road accidents in 2020 amid the COVID-19 lockdown, official RIM radio reported on Saturday.

The North African country recorded 85,208 traffic accidents last year, about 17 percent lower than that of 2019, said the report quoting the ministry of transportation.

A total of 2,774 fatalities in road accidents were registered, down by 18 percent year on year, it added.
