Uganda was hit by a countrywide power outage on Wednesday, electricity distribution company Umeme tweeted.
“We are currently experiencing a nationwide power outage. All stakeholders are working to have electricity restored” as soon as possible, Umeme said.
“We will share restoration updates in due course. All inconveniences caused are highly regretted,” it said, without giving further details about the cause of the outage.
Last year, the country experienced several power outages. The outage last April was caused by floating weeds, which affected the Nalubaale power plant located in the eastern part of Uganda
