At least five people died while 13 others sustained serious injuries when a public bus they were traveling in overturned in central Zambia’s Kabwe town, the police said on Saturday.

The accident happened in the early hours of Saturday when the driver lost control of the bus which went off the road and overturned, according to police spokesperson Esther Mwaata-Katongo.
She said in a release that 42 other passengers sustained minor injuries.
Road traffic accidents involving public buses are common in Zambia.
