South Africa on Friday named its squad to take on Sri Lanka in a two-match Test series later this month.

The 15-man squad will include three debutants, namely: Glenton Stuurman, Sarel Erwee and Kyle Verreynne.

Fast bowler Kagiso Rabada will miss the series due to an adductor injury, as will all-rounder Dwaine Pretorius who is nursing a hamstring injury.

Quinton de Kock will captain the squad, which will hope to put behind the disappointment of suffering a whitewash against England in their three-match T20I series and then having the subsequent One-Day International series against the same opponents cancelled due to COVID-19.

Cricket South Africa (CSA) on Thursday confirmed that the series will go on following fears stoked by the cancellation of the ODI series.

The series is due to be played from December 26-30 at SuperSport Park in Centurion and January 3-7 at Imperial Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.
