TALK AFRICA: The Scramble for COVID-19 vaccines


The COVID 19 crisis has had a devastating global impact on economies and people, with over 1 million deaths reported so far. Scientists in several countries are currently in a scramble to develop and produce a Vaccine for the worst pandemic the world has ever faced.

There are several coronavirus vaccines currently being developed globally. These have shown varying degrees of effectiveness, but the race to successfully release one to market continues. According to the World Health Organization, Dozens of potential COVID-19 vaccines are in human clinical trials, with Four of these are being tested in South Africa.

This week on Talk Africa we look at how equitable the distribution of the completed vaccines is likely to be? And how will African countries fare in this process?
