The COVID 19 pandemic has had an impact on just about every aspect of life around the world, with education being one of the hardest hit sectors. The pandemic has to date caused the disruption of learning to over a billion students globally.
Most schools have been closed due to the pandemic, meaning students either don’t have any classes or have to rely on e-learning. However with Africa’s challenges in terms of connectivity and accessibility, this is not possible across the board. But despite quarantines and lockdowns, education must go on.
This week we examine the challenge of learning in Africa during this COVID pandemic. We look at what can be implemented now and in future to streamline education, and what role technology can play in this.
