Police say the are hunting for the attacker.
The latest incident now raises to 12 the number of teenagers killed by gunmen in Missouri city since April.
The girl was shot alongside two teenage boys and a woman near Soldan High School, according to the police.
The police are reported to have already been at the grounds before the shooting, as a fight broke out involving the spectators.
St. Louis Police Chief John Hayden said the girl was “with family” when she was gunned down.
“The little girl wasn’t doing anything wrong,” Hayden added. “She was with family when this occurred. Shots rang out. Not sure what particular fight that was going on when shots rang out.”
