A helicopter crash-landed on the roof of a 54-story office building in Midtown Manhattan Monday, sparking a fire and killing the pilot.
Police say the pilot had just dropped off a passenger at a heliport, and may have been making his way back to the chopper’s base in Linden, New Jersey, when the crash occurred.
The pilot, later identified as Tim McCormack, was the only person on board.
Officials are still trying to determine why McCormack was flying in such poor weather conditions.
New York City Mayor Bill DeBlasio says there is nothing indicating Monday’s incident was terror-related.
