Somali President Mohamed Abdullahi ‘Farmajo’ arrived in neighbouring Ethiopia on Sunday for talks with Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.
According to the Ethiopian Prime Minister’s office, the two leaders “held discussions on bilateral issues, including further strengthening cooperation in regional peace & security.”
Farmajo was accompanied in the trip by Somalia’s First Lady Zeinab Abdi.
To mark their visit to Ethiopia, President Farmajo and First Lady Zeinab planted tree seedlings within the Prime Minister’s compound to mark the friendship enjoyed by the two countries.
PM Abiy visited Somalia in June 2018, pledging to strengthen ties between the two nations.
During his visit, he also pledged to work together with the African Union in seeking lasting solutions to the problems facing the African continent.
