South African 800 metres runner Caster Semenya claims that her phone has been hacked into and asked people with that contact to stop using it.

In a Twitter post on Monday, Semenya further alleges that the hackers are using her number to solicit for money.

Semenya did not give any further details on the incident, including contacting the authorities.

MTN South Africa, the service provider mentioned in Semenya’s post, is yet to publicly respond to the claim.

Semenya has been in the news recently following the dismissal of her appeal by the Court of Arbitration for Sport challenging new IAAF rules regulating testosterone in female athletes.

The two-time Olympic champion won the women’s 800 metres at the Doha Diamond League meeting on Friday in her first race since losing her appeal over a controversial gender ruling.
