Talk Africa: Green development in rural Africa

Africa is the second largest and second most populated continent on the planet. More than half of the world’s population growth will be in Africa by 2050.

This rapidly growing population on the continent has led to a serious rise in environmental challenges. According to the United Nations, deforestation, pollution growth and lack of renewable energy are some of the biggest obstacles facing Africa today.

The fourth session of the United Nations Environment Assembly was held in Nairobi this March with the aim of finding solutions for global challenges in Green Development.

This week, we speak to experts from the conference to get their thoughts on Green Development solutions and how to apply them across Rural Africa.
