South African President Cyril Ramaphosa has pledged the ruling African National Congress party’s commitment to improving the lives of the country’s citizens.
The president made the remarks on Monday in KwaZulu-Natal ahead of the ANC’s manifesto launch scheduled for January 8.
“It may take us some time, but we will be able to deliver because we are the only organisation in the country committed to improving the lives of our people,” Ramaphosa said.
Ramaphosa also took the opportunity to call for unity in the ANC, saying it is nly through togetherness that the party will deliver its pledges to the people.
“It’s when we worked together that we were able to reach all the promises that we have delivered,” he said.
January 8 will also mark the ANC’s 107th birthday. Ahead of those celebrations, the president expressed optimism that the party would emerge victorious in the general elections slated for later this month. No date has been issued yet.
