
“Leap towards concrete action!”…in the fight against corruption. That was the call by African Union Commission chairperson Moussa Faki Mahamat at the just concluded 31st AU Heads of State Summit in Noukchott-Mauritania.
Riding on the 2018 theme of “Combatting Corruption”, member states were urged to chart a sustainable path by taking the war on graft from words to action.
However, with billions lost annually in domestic and international channels, how committed are the continent’s leaders in winning the fight against corruption? And can this battle that’s dragged on for decades be eventually won?
