Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari is set to meet U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House on April 30.
In a statement released Sunday, White House Spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said “President Trump looks forward to discussing ways to enhance our strategic partnership and advance our shared priorities,”
Some of the priorities include, “promoting economic growth and reforms, fighting terrorism and other threats to peace and security, and building on Nigeria’s role as a democratic leader in the region”, she said.
Buhari recently announced that he will be seekig a second term in elections next year and shortly after he flew to Britain for talks with Prime Minister Theresa May.
His meeting with Trump comes weeks after Rex Tillerson , completed his first visit to Nigeria and other African countries as US Secretary of state. Tillerson was fired shortly after his return from Africa to Washington.
