Namibian President Hage Geingob is in China for a seven-day state visit upon the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
The two leaders held bilateral talks at the Great Hall of the People in the capital, Beijing.
In an exclusive interview with CGTN, President Geingob praised the relationship between the two countries, hailing China as being an “all-weather friend.”
“We have been cooperating (since) before the independence of Namibia. China has been supporting us when things were bad, and then after independence,”Geingob said.
In their meeting, President Xi and Geingob agreed to establish a comprehensive strategic partnership of cooperation between the two countries.
The Namibian leader’s main agenda on his trip is cooperation on sectors critical to the national development, which includes science and technology, infrastructure, agriculture trade and industry, business facilitation, people to people exchanges and tourism.
