South African brands recall products as focus shifts to disposing tonnes of meat


In South Africa, 183 people have died in the past 14 months due to eating listeriosis-contaminated processed cold meat.

The South African government says that it has pinpointed the source of the contamination. Meanwhile, Tiger Brands company Enterprise has recalled all processed cold meats. Another cold meat processor RCL has begun recalling some of its brands, as a precaution. The listeriosis crisis gripping Southern African nation now moves to the next level.
