China launches satellite TV project for 10,000 African villages

The Chinese government has launched a satellite television project on the continent and is aiming to expand access to digital media in rural areas in 25 African countries.

The project is a fruit of one of the resolutions of the 2015 summit of Forum On China-Africa Cooperation, in Johannesburg, South Africa, in which the Chinese government pledged to provide satellite TV in 10,000 African villages.

The Republic of Guinea has been chosen as the starting point for the ambitious project providing the locals an opportunity to watch digital TV programs of both local and international contents.
