Gabon’s president in Rwanda for bilateral talks

Gabonese President Ali Bongo Ondimba on Tuesday arrived in Kigali for a one-day working visit to Rwanda.

The Gabonese leader was received at the Kigali International Airport by Foreign affairs minister Louise Mushikiwabo, among other senior officials.

Ondimba later met with his Rwandese counterpart Paul Kagame, with whom he held bilateral talks.

The two leaders are expected to hold a joint press briefing, in which will possibly announce details of their talks.

This is the second time the two leaders are meeting in three weeks, having attended the 30th African Union Summit in Addis Ababa.

During the summit, Kagame officially took over the chairmanship of the African Union from Guinea’s President Alpha Conde.
