Ethiopian innovator looking to curb power wastage

An Ethiopian software engineer has come up with an innovation that will allow people to make power adapters and bulbs perform beyond their basic functions.

Daniel Genatchew’s smart device will enable a phone to control bulbs, charge electronic devices and offer a free wireless connection.

Daniel travelled to China in 2015 where he bought a wifi module and a power relay. He has incorporated them into his innovation to also enable users to create chat platforms for free.

CGTN’s Coletta Wanjohi met him in Ethiopia’s capital of Addis Ababa.
