The number of hungry and displaced is at staggering levels in South Sudan.
The International Committee of the Red Cross says nearly a third of the 12 million citizens are displaced, creating Africa’s biggest refugee crisis since the Rwandan genocide. One in two is also in need of urgent food assistance.
Aid agencies have been distributing food supplies but this is not enough.
The United Nations declared famine in parts of South Sudan in February.
South Sudan has been plagued by ongoing conflict since December 2013. This has caused hundreds of thousands to flee amidst growing humanitarian challenges.
