The President of Egypt, Abdel el-Sisi is expected in Tanzania and Rwanda for a state visit next week.
Tanzanian President John Magufuli extended an invitation to the Egyptian President to strengthen cooperation between their two nations especially in the fields of economics and social diplomacy reports the Citizen.
“Tanzania and Egypt’s cooperation has been laid by our first President Mwalimu Nyerere and the first President of Egypt, mostly in various fields like fighting for human rights, diplomacy, emancipation of the African continent against colonialism and education,” said Tanzania’s Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and East Africa Cooperation, Mr. Azizi Mlima.
Mlima further said that the Tanzanian President will promote the country’s agenda to promote industrialization.
Rwanda is set to receive the Egyptian President on the 15th of August and host them till the 16th. Abdel el-Sisi’s visit to Rwanda will be historic since it will be the first time ever for an Egyptian leader to visit the East African nation.
Egypt and Rwanda have good diversified relations in many political, economic, cultural, and developmental fields according to KT Press.
President Abdel el-Sisi is scheduled to visit Chad and Gabon as well according to Dr Namira Negm, the Ambassador of Egypt to Rwanda.
“The tour aims mainly at clarifying Egypt’s situation on the outstanding issues; consolidate political and economic relations as well as discuss ways of handling crisis and challenges facing Africa especially terrorism,” Amb. Negm is quoted in media reports.
