Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Ghana has constructed a 4 by 4 solar powered vehicle, reports Citi FM.
The University’s environmental friendly automobile was created in partnership with the Technical university of Munich. It is a revolutionary innovation that will place the university as the first to design the first solar powered 4 by 4 vehicle in Africa.
The solar powered vehicle is still undergoing tests and fine tuning to bring it to standards according to the KNUST’ vice chancellor Professor Kwasi Obiri-Danso.
The university is calling for more funding on research to enable it to come up with more cutting-edge technologies.
The most recent announcement of a solar-powered bus was in February last year when a company in Uganda launched what they said was the continent’s first.
