It’s been a magical weekend for the world’s undisputed top two footballers, as both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo had lovely additions into their love lives.
The Argentine tied the knot with his childhood girlfriend in a wedding dubbed the ‘Wedding of the Century’ by many.
Messi married long-time partner Antonella Roccuzzo on Friday night in Rosario, Argentina, a wedding that was witnessed by some of Barcelona and Argentina past and present football stars including Samuel Eto’o, Xavi Hernandez, Carles Puyol, Cesc Fabregas, Ezequiel Lavezzi and Sergio Aguero.
The lavish wedding was attended by over 250 guests, most of whom are reported to have been booked into the 188-room Pullman Hotel inside the complex, where rates start from $125 a night.
On the other Hand, Messi’s greatest rival Cristiano Ronaldo posted the first picture of his new twins, after flying home immediately after Portugal’s Confederations Cup defeat to Chile.
Ronaldo, 32, posted a picture of himself holding the new additions to the Ronaldo family, declaring: “So happy to be able to hold the two new loves of my life.”
Ronaldo already has a seven-year-old son called Cristiano Ronaldo Jnr.
The Portuguese Football Federation allowed Ronaldo to fly home immediately after their defeat to Chile on Wednesday evening, with the Seleccao losing 3-0 on penalties after a goalless draw with the South American champions.
And in relation to these, English striker Harry Kane also proposed to his girlfriend Katie Goodland during their family holiday in the Bahamas.
The pair have been together for five years and had their first child, Ivy, in January.
