Three Tanzanian students win international genius competition


Three Tanzanian students have won this year’s Olympiad competition in the United States, the Citizen reports.

Among the winners was the country’s former President Jakaya Kikwete’s son, Rashid Jakaya Kikwete. The other two were Abdulrazak Makamia who is the son of the former deputy minister, Juma Nkamia and lastly Abdallah Rubeya.

Participants from 63 countries across the world took part in the competition.

The competition involved various categories, including robotics, ecology, and biodiversity, and resource, and energy, innovation in science entrepreneurship and social responsibility in business.
