Highest paid Hollywood actor ‘The Rock’ for President?

Former WWE champion, Hollywood action celebrity Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson might be running for the office of the US President, reports Fox news.

According to interview with GQ, the star said that running U.S Presidency in 2020 is a real possibility.

“There was a real sense of earnestness, which made me go home and think, ‘Let me really rethink my answer and make sure I am giving an answer that is truthful and also respectful.’ I didn’t want to be flippant — ‘We’ll have three days off for a weekend! No taxes!” Johnson explained in a recent GQ interview.

Currently the highest-paid actor on Earth, Johnson steered clear of endorsing a candidate in the 2016 election. He told GQ both candidates, Hillary Clinton and Trump, asked him to back them.

“I feel like I’m in a position now where my word carries a lot of weight and influence, which of course is why they want the endorsement,” Johnson told the magazine. “But I also have a tremendous amount of respect for the process and felt like if I did share my political views publicly, a few things would happen….I felt like it would either (a) make people unhappy with the thought of whatever my political view was. And, also, it might sway an opinion, which I didn’t want to do.”

Johnson, 44, told Reuters last year, that the excitement surrounding US’ presidential election had renewed public interest in him running for office.

“I love my country, I’m extremely patriotic and I also feel, especially now, leadership is so important, great leadership is so important, respected leadership is so important,” said Johnson, star of “The Fast and the Furious” franchise

When the former professional wrestler was asked if he will run for the top job in the country; Johnson replied: “If I felt like I could be an effective leader for us, and surround myself with really high-quality leaders, then sure, I would.”
