April the 2nd is the World Autism Awareness Day.
The United Nations has marked the day since 2008 to help improve the lives of those with autism.
This year’s theme is “Toward Autonomy and Self-Determination”.
In China, there are around 1.6 million diagnosed autistic patients, and an estimated 5 million or more who are not diagnosed. China has compiled a guideline for autistic diagnosis and recovery.
China provides patients with financial and recovery services, especially in impoverished areas.
