
Zambia won the Under-20 Africa Cup of Nations title at the Heroes Stadium in Lusaka on Sunday night courtesy of a 2-0 victory at home against finalists Senegal.
The Under-20 World Cup qualifiers were buoyed by the “12th man” in the stands on their way to their first ever under-20 AFCON title.
Senegal finished as runners-up for the second consecutive time. Guinea surprised South Africa to claim third place.
Zambia, Senegal, Guinea and South Africa are set to play at the FIFA U20 World Cup in South Korea May 2017.
