Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn is in Uganda on a three-day state visit.
The Ethiopian premier arrived in Kampala on Thursday accompanied by his wife Roman Tesfaye Abney.
Desalegn and Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni are hoping to reinforce shared security and economic relations between the two countries.
Ending the conflict in Somali and South Sudan are major concerns for both nations.
President Museveni and PM Desalegn have called for greater international support for troops deployed to these conflict zones.
The two leaders have also renewed their commitment to resolving the Nile water crisis.
Reports also suggest that the two mulled the possibility of construction of a road joining Uganda (Karamoja) to the North Western Ethiopia.
