Africa closely monitoring outcomes of the CPPCC meetings

The annual sessions of China’s Parliament and its advisory body have opened in Beijing.

The sessions are being followed closely all around the world, as they will provide some indication of the direction one of the world’s largest economies will take.

Africa is particularly keen on the outcomes of these two meetings. CGTN got an exclusive interview with the Chinese ambassador to Nigeria Dr. Zhou Pingjian, who expressed his confidence that the African continent stands to benefit from the discussions.

He particularly noted that China is keen on supporting the ‘Made in Africa’ drive, to boost production in African countries.

“I believe a hot topic this year will still be on the supply side, structural reforms, we care a lot about the ‘Made in Nigeria’, ‘Made in Africa’ so there might be production under capacity in this continent,” he said.
