Sadio Mane and Riyad Mahrez on target in impressive AFCON Group B Games

Liverpool’s Sadio Mane got on the score sheet on Sunday night to help Senegal overcome Tunisia in their first game of the Africa Cup of Nations in Gabon.

Senegal became the first team to record a win in this year’s edition, after the first three games ended in draws.

The win propelled The Teranga Lions to the top of Group B, with Tunisia falling to the bottom of the group.

In the other Group B game played earlier, Algeria settled for a 2-2 draw with minnows Zimbabwe, with Leicester City star Riyad Mahrez netting both goals for the North Africans.

The Desert Foxes went ahead in the 12th minute as the African Footballer of the Year saw his low shot sneak past Zimbabwe’s Tatenda Mkuruva.

They however lost their lead in the 17th minute as Tatenda Mkuruva leveled for the Southern Africans.

Things got worse for the Algerians as they found themselves down in the 29th minute after Nyasha Mushekwi scored from the penalty spot.

The Zimbabweans put up a very spirited fight that frustrated Algeria very often.

In the 82 minute however, Mahrez stepped up once again and slotted to level the scores.

Algeria will play Tunisia in their second game on Thursday, while Zimbabwe will face Senegal.
