Chinese President Xi Jinping will begin a four-day state visit to Switzerland on Sunday.
This will be president Xi’s first state visit of the year, and also his first trip to Switzerland as head of state.
His visit will begin in Zurich and end in Geneva on Wednesday.
During his four-day stay in the country, Xi will attend the 2017 World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos on Tuesday, and visit offices of the United Nations, the World Health Organization and the International Olympic Committee on Wednesday.
Ahead of his state visit, Xi wrote an article in a Swiss daily newspaper, highlighting the importance of the Swiss-Chinese relationship and putting forward a four-point proposal to boost bilateral ties. He also called for joint efforts to tackle the rise of protectionism.
