Over 30 people have been confirmed dead after two female suicide bomber detonated their explosives in a busy market in north-eastern Nigerian town of Madagali in Adamawa state
“The attack in Madagali was carried out by two female school children. They detonated two bombs at the same time killing 30 people and they also died,” said Major Badare Akintoye, a spokesman for an army unit in the nearby town of Mubi to Aljazeera
At least 57 people were also wounded in the bombings Aljazeera reports
There have been no claims to the bombing but Boko Haram islamist terrorist group might be behind the attack after waging a seven year insurgency against the government of Nigeria using suicide bombers. The terrorist group occupied the town for several months before it was recaptured by the Nigerian army.
