Prison wardens and prisoners trained in South Sudan


Over 200 inmates and prison wardens successfully completed a 9 month technical skills training at the Juba Central Prison Vocational Center.

South Sudan National Police Service offered the vocational training supported by the United Nations offered training in carpentry, masonry, electrical engineering, wielding, vehicle mechanics, agriculture, hairdressing and tailoring according to a report by the Eye radio.

The rehabilitation programme which seeks to equip prisoners with skills to earn a living so as to contribute to the society once they are released benefitted at least 22 female inmates as well. 140 more inmates including 8 female prisoners are also undergoing the training at the moment.
