TAAG Angola Airlines has with immediate effect banned the use of Galaxy Note 7 and Samsung S7 Edge on its flights stating that there was fire danger risks associated with the transportation and use of the devices.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the airline said the ban was issued due to flight safety concerns around smoke and fire incidents, which had happened even to replacement handsets.

“TAAG informs its passengers and public in general, not to use these devices on its flights and should keep them off throughout the flight,” the airline said in a statement.

Several global and regional airlines have banned the use of the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 following fire danger warnings issued by the US Federal Aviation Administration agency and the European Aviation Safety Agency reports eNCA
