Suspected rebels killed at least 30 civilians in northeastern Democratic Republic of Congo late on Saturday, the deadliest massacre in the conflict-ravaged region this year, Reuters reports the army as saying.
Rebels from the Ugandan-based Allied Democratic Forces (ADF) that has operated in eastern Congo since the 1990’s attacked the village of Rwangoma, about b5 kilometers south of the commercial hub of Beni , at around 1700GMT, a spokesman for the army said.
