A man allegedly disguised as the Director General for Internal Security Organization (ISO) conned ministerial hopefuls of between Shs 1 M (approximately 294 dollars) to 5M (1469 dollars) reports The Monitor.

Kampala Metropolitan police spokesperson said that Mr. Babibasa pretended to be making a report on behalf of President Museveni, checking into their conducts, political status and work abilities.

“Babibasa would threaten the MPs that their records were not good for ministerial positions. He would then ask them to send him money via mobile money so that he makes good reports on them,” said the police spokesperson, Patrick Onyango

Mr. Onyango said at least six MPs were conned that their records were not good for ministerial positions and asked to send money via mobile money so that Babibasa could make their reports appear good.

The police tracked down his phone number and made the arrest after some of the victims reported it to them.
