President Kenyatta tells ICC judge to stop ‘lecturing’ Kenya

Kenyan President Uhuru Kenyatta has launched a verbal attack on the judges at the International Criminal Court after one of them had criticised what he saw as efforts to bully the court.

Judge Chile Eboe-Osuji, who is presiding over the ICC case of Kenyan Deputy President William Ruto, said that some Kenyans have issued “abusive commentaries” when they disagree with a court decision.

President Kenyatta told a rally marking Heroes’ Day that those who want to “lecture” Kenya about the ICC should “leave us alone”.

The ICC case against the president for crimes relating to the violence that followed the 2007 Kenyan election has been dropped.

But the cases against the deputy president and another Kenyan continue.
