The 70th session of the UN General Assembly is underway. And next week Chinese President Xi Jinping will make his inaugural address to the global body but much has changed in the last 70 years?

As the UN marks its anniversary, it’s on the back of worldwide economic uncertainty, an unprecedented migration crisis and wide calls for more representation from developing nations.

So as world leaders descend on New York, are African voices being heard? And how will the decision made now impact on the future relationship between Africa and the UN?
