Togo is gearing up for elections set to be held on Saturday. Security forces, who voted earlier, have been deployed across the country to ensure the safety of voters.
Ballot boxes have also been delivered to the various polling stations in the west African country. Incumbent president Faure Gnassingbe will face his rival Jean-Pierre Fabre of the Combat for Political Leadership Change in 2015 party. The election was postponed from 15 April in response to allegations of irregularities on the electoral register.
