A second attack targeting an embassy in Tripoli has taken place. An explosion took place early Monday at the gates of the Moroccan Embassy.
Libyan officials say the explosion caused by a car bomb caused significant damage to the embassy building, as well as surrounding buildings in Tripoli’s residential neighbourhood of Al-Nofeleen.
Libyan officials said no casualties were reported in the bombing. The attack came only hours after gunmen opened fire at the nearby South Korean Embassy early on Sunday, killing two security guards.
Supporters of the Islamic State group’s affiliate in Tripoli claimed responsibility on social media for both attacks later on Sunday.
