Reverend wants congregation to buy him a jet

(Mail Online) The founder and leader of an Atlanta-based megachurch has appealed online for 200,000 people to each donate $300 or more so he can buy a $65 million private jet.

Reverend Creflo Dollar is the head of the World Changers Church International, a Christian ministry in the United States. The televangelist is one of the most prominent African-American preachers in the U.S.

Reverend Dollar, put a five minute video up on his website asking for donations for a gulfstream G650, which claims to be the fastest plane ever built in civilian aviation.

The Reverend claimed the jet was needed in order to enable World Changers Church International continue to spread the gospel of grace to the globe.

Dollar is known for his controversial teachings regarding prosperity theology.

He has long been criticized for living a lavish lifestyle.  He is known to own two Rolls Royce’s and multi-million dollar homes in Atlanta and New Jersey.

In 2012 he was arrested for beating his 15-year old daughter and was charged with battery and cruelty to children. He denied the claim and the charges were eventually dropped.
