Al-Jazeera Journalists Sentenced

Three journalists working for the Al-Jazeera television network have been jailed in Egypt – for seven years. Peter Greste, Mohamed Fahmy and Baher Mohamed were convicted of supporting the outlawed group, the Muslim Brotherhood. They’d all denied the charges. Eleven defendants tried in their absence received 10-year sentences. The verdict has triggered widespread international criticism. But in Egypt, there’s little sympathy for the jailed journalists.
