Algeria will be going for a presidential election on Thursday. Nearly 23 million Algerians will be casting their vote, to choose their President for the next five years from among 6 candidates. The six candidates are Abdelaziz Belaid, incumbent Abdelaziz Bouteflika, Ali Benflis, Ali Fewzi Rebaine, Moussa Touati and Louisa Hanoun who is the only female candidate. The 77 year-old Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika is likely to retain his position after 15 years in power as he has the support of the powerful ruling party.
