Members of the anti-balaka Christian militia wear magic talisman known as "gris-gris" around their heads, necks and arms to give them protection from their enemies' bullets.

The Central African Republic continues to witness violence with the latest spate being reported near the airport in Bangui. Chadian troops were trying to evacuate some Muslims but were blocked by the Christian militia, anti-Balaka. The fighting in the C.A.R has so far displaced an estimate 1 million people and killed at least 2,000.

Meanwhile, a former rebel leader has warned of the C.A.R disappearing structurally if no action is taken to turn around the situation
