Across the continent, Africans celebrated earlier this week as they welcomed in the New Year.

2016 saw a mixed bag for Africa’s political and economic outcomes, and so 2017 is expected to be a make or break year for the continent’s socio-economic outlook.
Over the next 12 months a large wave of elections are due, security will be a top priority, and experts are predicting at least a slight economic recovery.
